Erin Garlinghouse is a San Diego-born Filipina American illustrator with a deep love for whimsical, character-driven storytelling. Largely self-taught, she has spent years developing her craft through dedicated study and practice, working across watercolor, gouache, Copic markers, and digital media. Her illustration style is atmospheric and expressive, with a particular affinity for adventures — big and small.
She is the author and illustrator of Aurelius Whiskerbottom: The Journey to Save the Starbloom — a middle-grade fantasy world of animal folk, sprites, fairies, and things that glow in the dark, born from a single ink drawing and grown into a complete manuscript. She has also participated in The Monster Project, a nonprofit initiative pairing professional artists with elementary school students to reimagine children's original drawings. Erin is seeking illustration representation to bring her work to young readers and the editors and art directors who champion them.
When she isn't illustrating, she's probably cooking with her kids, inventing card games, reading, or arguing with her computer.
